Padfolio Project

Finally managed to finish up the padfolio build. Here’s how it turned out:

Now, I’m not so happy with a couple points on it overall, but it is the first major project I’ve done in like 5 years. Plus I let it drag on waaay too long – it might have come out better if I had worked on it more consistently. In particular, I got the order of assembly a little out of order and the edges suffered for it.

Some details:

  • Veg-Tan for the front and rear panel with Fiebing’s Pro Dye in Mahogany and a similar antique
  • Resolene finish on the carved panels and interior, no finish on the spine
  • Spine is some pull-up that I got from Weaver several years ago, I don’t remember the details
  • Interior is 2-3oz Veg with Fiebing’s Royal Blue dye
  • That black lining in the pocket is some super-thin pigskin that I’ve been using to line almost all my projects and I’m running out.
